7 Cheap Bike Mirrors Under $10

7 Cheap Bike Mirrors Under $10

Safety is always the number one priority for me when I’m riding my bicycle. I make sure I’m aware of my surroundings and pay attention to any cars or other riders that may be approaching. But as important as safety is, we don’t have unlimited funds. For that reason, I wanted to look into the options for cheap bike mirrors. To make sure these are within the budget of every rider, I have here the top 7 bicycle mirrors under $10.

Remember that a mirror is no substitute for paying vigilant attention to your surroundings, using common sense, and following the rules of the road. Mirrors are just a tool to use, not a replacement for your senses.

Read on to see the options available at this price point as well as my final recommendation.

Cosmos 360° Rotation Rear View Mirror

Cosmos 360 Rotation Rear View Bike Mirror

Check the latest pricing on Amazon

Materials and Size

This Cosmos mirror comes as a pair of two. The body and mounting rod are made of plastic. The mirror is a convex glass, so there will be some distortion as is typical for this mirror style.

The mirror is about 2.8 inches wide. The rod is 5 or so inches long coming out at an angle from the handlebar mount. The mounting sleeve is only 3/4″ in diameter, so it’s unlikely to fit many common handlebar sizes.

Mounting and Installation

Easy installation. Position the mounting sleeve around your handlebars, insert the mounting rod, and tighten with a provided nut.

Quality

Not great. Because the rods are made of plastic, there is quite a bit of vibration that makes it difficult to view the mirrors on anything but the smoothest roads or slowest speeds. I’ve seen a couple of folks have the plastic rods actually break due to the vibration.

Style

These are utilitarian. They look quite cheap because of the plastic stems, but they can get the job done.

Price

When I last looked, this pair was available for $7.49 with free Prime shipping.

Summary

Not recommended. The low quality materials make these difficult to use and lead to irreparable damage to the mirrors. Probably best to avoid this one for most riders.

However, if you are a slow rider or ride on very smooth roads or trails, these issues may not be a bother to you.

MyLifeUNIT Bicycle Rearview Bike Mirror

MyLifeUNIT Bicycle Rearview Mirror

Check the latest pricing on Amazon

Materials and Size

This MyLifeUNIT mirror is built with shatterproof glass mounted in a reinforced ABS plastic casing with a reflector on the backside of the mirror for extra visibility. The mirror has a wide view with minimal distortion. The mounting rod is metal and chrome plated.

The mirror is 9.3 inches wide and about 2.6 inches tall. The mounting rod extends 4.7 inches at an angle away from the mounting nut.

Mounting and Installation

Installation is pretty easy. There is a rubber piece that should fit around any handlebars. You’ll insert the mounting rod into this piece and tighten it in place with two nuts. Because of the installation method, you should be able to place this in the spot you prefer, as it is very adjustable.

Quality

Quality assurance does not seem to be a strong suit for MyLifeUNIT. While I haven’t had a faulty unit, there are plenty of reports of buyers getting cracked glass or stripped threads on the mounting rod.

Some buyers also report that the mirror comes out of adjustment, probably from vibration of riding. With appropriate installation, this shouldn’t happen to you. Just make sure the nuts are tightened, and avoid installing the mirror on a sharply curved part of the handlebar.

Style

Mirrors aren’t the most stylish bike accessory, but this one has a pretty slim profile and plain black and chrome styling. It won’t win any design awards, but it’s not going to make you look foolish either.

Price

When I checked this mirror out, it retailed for just $5.99 with free Prime shipping. This is the cheapest bike mirror I could find on Amazon.

Summary

The price is tough to beat, even for cheap bike mirrors, and the materials are very good for the price. I would expect a mirror this inexpensive to have a lot more plastic in its construction. Even with the quality control issues, as long as you take care when installing, you should be able to use this for a decent amount of time before upgrading to a more serious mirror.

ONEGenug MTB Bar End Mountain Bicycle Mirror

ONEGenug MTB Bar End Mountain Bicycle Mirror

Check the latest pricing on Amazon

Materials and Size

The ONEGenug mirrors come as a pair. The mirror body is made of ABS plastic available in a few colors. The maker claims the plastic is “unbreakable,” though I have my doubts. The wide-angle mirror is shatterproof plastic and chrome-plated.

It’s handlebar-mounted and pretty compact at about 1.59 inches wide and stands up about 5 inches over the handlebars. The mirror can be adjusted to get a different viewing angle.

Mounting and Installation

The mirror uses a bar end mount, so installation is very easy with a hex key/allen wrench.

Quality

Absolutely awful. Some of the other reviewers called this “absolute junk,” “so fragile,” and “totally useless.”

The mirror has a poor finish, so it’s difficult to get a decent reflection. On top of that, it’s not well-made enough to be consistently flat or convex.

And finally, the mounting hardware is too fragile to be reliable. When tightening the fastener, the plastic can be warped easily, making the mirror too wobbly to use.

Their shipping practices also leave a lot to be desired. Many people reported getting damaged products on arrival.

Style

It’s available in black, blue, yellow, and red. I actually think it’s not a bad looking mirror, though the plastic does look cheap.

Price

This was $7.99 with free Prime shipping for the pair of mirrors.

Summary

Avoid these at all costs. The quality is very poor, the mirror is not very functional, and it’s likely to be broken on arrival.

Don’t waste your time with this one!

Oalas Black Retro Style Side Rearview Mirror

Oalas Black Retro Style Side Rearview Mirror

Check the latest pricing on Amazon

Materials and Size

Oalas builds this set of 2 glass mirrors with ABS plastic for the mirror housing and black powder-coated metal for the stem and 78” adapters.

The mirrors are 3 1316 inches by 2 inches, and the stems are 3 78 inches long.

The short stem and small size make these mirrors difficult to use for adults. They would better suit a child’s bike. Adults will have problems with their arms and shoulders blocking the mirror’s view. Because of that, you will end up with a very limited rear view.

Mounting and Installation

These mirrors install using bar end mounting. Very easy with the included adapters.

Quality

The quality of materials on these is pretty good. The metal feels solid, and the mirror housing seems quite sturdy. The problem, again, comes from the short length that makes them hard to use.

Quality control seems to be a little iffy. Some reviewers have reported problems when they received the mirrors. However, Amazon does so well with returns that I wouldn’t worry about that, unless you need them in a rush.

Style

These mirrors are only offered in black. They look good on their own, but the small size makes them a bit funny-looking.

Price

At just $9.99 for the pair with free Prime shipping, these fit just about any budget.

Summary

For a child or petite adult needing some mirrors, these will work fine. For anyone else, you should probably look somewhere else.

Do4U Bike Mirrors

Do4U Bike Mirrors

Check the latest pricing on Amazon

Materials and Size

The Do4U mirrors come as a pair. They’re built from ABS plastic with a convex glass mirror. These are very adjustable, with two points of rotation to set the viewing angle you want.

The mirror is circular and just under 3 inches in diamater. The mirror sits about an inch and a quarter up from the handlebars.

Mounting and Installation

You’ll mount these with the included silicon belt that wraps tightly around handlebars with a diameter between 58 inches and 1 38 inches. No tools are required, so this is probably the easiest to install of all the options here.

Quality

The mirrors are clear and give a good wide angle of the rear view. The silicon strap feels strong, but it will surely stretch and wear out over time.

As with some of the other cheap bike mirrors I looked at, these suffer from bad quality control issues. Make sure you inspect them thoroughly when they arrive and test them safely before putting them to real use.

Style

Very simple looking. They’re unobtrusive and are there to do the job.

Price

At $7.99 for two mirrors, it’s a good value. Available with free Prime shipping.

Summary

These are a solid option at the price point. You’ll get two mirrors that are easy to install and work well.

These are a good choice if you want to keep under $10 to get two mirrors.
